Crucibles

These are ceramic byproducts of the metal working industries, being used to melt a variety of metals.   

They carry the history of their working lives and the rough beauty of utility.  

Glazed over with our iridescent glazes, they become more than just found objects and are metamorphasized into striking features which can be places easily on ledges and window sills.  Their weight and strength far outweighs a normal ceramic pot, and they are very unlikely to shatter.
